Home Contacts Events Safety Membership Club Rules Links Photo Gallery Club Kit News     website by MM	BSCA National Hill Climb Championship Darenth Valley Country Park, Saturday 7th October 2006 We had eight riders taking part in the British Schools Cycling Association National Hill climb Championships in Darenth Country Park on Saturday 7th October. London Cycle Sport website has some pictures here. The course was on a tarmac road in need of repair. The start sheet had some 70 entries. There were some four rider from Eastlands which is based at the Manchester Velodrome and some riders for Leciester, as well as Southend Wheelers etc. The riders though, as you can imagine from the title of the event, represented their schools but rode in their club kit, most of whom were on road or cross bikes with slicks.  Every one of our riders road exceptionally well with Grant suffering a bit towards the finish when his asthma took hold. Jo also had a bit of a problem as he cramped in his hamstrings when attempting to get out of the saddle at the end. Jo then had to go off and take part in a Biathlon for his running club.  Go-Ride Bexley Results : Under 10 boys and girls: 3rd Lewis Finch (Lewis was down as 4th on the results but 3rd I am assured is the right answer) orignally 5th now 4th Adam Thornburrow.  Under 14 girls: 4th Danielle Finch, 5th Kitty Lane.  Under 14 boys: 3rd Alex Cozens , 8th Liam McLaughlin, 9th Joe Simmons.  Under 12 girls: 5th Stephanie Golding Under 12 boys: 12th Grant Cann,  this was the group with most riders.
