Cycle Racing for GRB members
There are several branches of cycling as a competitive sport and
they are mostly seasonal.

Autumn is hill-climb season,
around late Sept / October.For GRB riders, the BSCA holds an annual event in
the area. Indoor track and cyclo-cross
events are run at this time of year as well.

Cyclo-cross and Mountain-biking
dominate the winter scene in competitive cycling. The Gemini organises its
own traditional cyclo-x event at Footscray on Dec 27.

There are many other disciplines which cover the spring
and summer months, including Grass Track, outdoor track, circuit, road and
Time-Trial.

For Summer cycling, the main venues can be found at :

Hog Hill and Crystal Palace London and Fowlmead, Kent for closed
circuit road racing

Herne Hill London, Welwyn, Reading and Brighton for hard track
(outdoors)

Time Trials held on open roads, racing individually over a set
distance, minimum 10 miles, starting at one-minute intervals. Riders must be
minimum aged of 12 and a member of an RT affiliated club (GRB is not currently
affiliated)
Go-Ride Bexley coaches are available to advise on suitable events
(races) for our riders, and would hope to see individual riders or teams taking
part in some of the events available.
Details of races are on the governing bodies' websites and also
published in their own handbooks. A selection of events will also be
highlighted on the GRB website throughout the season.
